Cantina Antinori nel Chianti Classico

Its history dates back to 1385 and is a place where innovation and tradition coexist in harmony. The past, present, and future are evident once you get to the area. In October 2012, the winery was inaugurated to affirm a historic bond between ancestors and the Antinori family. The construction of the winery used locally sourced materials from the Tuscan landscape.

Since this winery represents a great history of the Antinori family, they decided to welcome wine enthusiasts after 26 years. The inauguration's main aim was to bring closer the wine lovers to the philosophy of the castle. All productions revolve around patience and passion for high-quality wines.

Wines in Antinori

Here, you will find three main categories of wine. Peppoli is a blend of Sangiovese grapes and other complementary varieties; many appreciate its fruit expressions. This is a full representation of the Chianti Classico with a typical fruity and floral aroma.

Villa Antinori is another wine made of Sangiovese grapes and other complementary varieties; it is produced to pay tribute to the historic Antinori label. The inauguration inspired the family to reinterpret this wine into a premium quality wine.

Vinsanto Marchese Antinori is the third type of wine available. It dates back to the middle ages. The wine observes strict production regulations and traditional methods. It is made from selected Malvasia and Trebbiano grapes, which are left to dry in the most natural way possible. It is worth waiting for the entire process. The result is a fine wine with generous soft palates and aromas.

CASTELLO DI VERRAZZANO

The castle is located between Siena and Florence in Greve, Chianti. The area has a great tradition of winemaking. In a manuscript dating back to 1150 stored in the Abbey of Passignano, there is record of the Vineyards in Verrazano.

In the VII century, the castle became the official property of the Verrazano family. Later in 1819, the Florentine family took over after the last descendant of the Verrazano died.

It did not take long before the Cappellini family took over in 1958. Since then, the family has strived to build the glorious Castello di Verrazzano we see today.

Since 1958, when the Cappellini family took over, drastic changes took place. Weeding in the vineyard is mechanical, fertilization is organic, and harvesting is performed exclusively using hands.

Selection in cutting bunches during growth is for deepening taste and scent concentration in the grapes, which helps increase wine quality.

The soil in the area is clay, and the morphology is equally good. The location with an east exposure facing the sunrise directly and the land's elevation characterizes wines available, making the longevity, structure, and scent of the wines original and impressive.
